Bernie the burro was adopted from the BLM in Topeka, KS as a 6 year old gelding.  Bernie was captured from the Clark Mountain HMA in San Bernadino County CA.  Randy gentled Bernie on his 2nd day home and it only took about two hours.  Bernie has been a pocket pal and a buddy ever since!

Randy used the bamboo pole method taught to him by John Sharp to gentle Bernie and it proved quite successful.

One of the most important jobs that Bernie has done at Tornado Alley Kigers was to assist in raising Marvel the orphan filly.  Bernie was instrumental in teaching Marvel social skills and he was very good with her.  They are still buddies and share a stall in our barn.

Bernie's other job is to humor his owners!

We are happy to announce that even with all these jobs Bernie loves his owners as much as they love him.  This burro is an exceptional fella with a wonderful disposition!

Pictured above is Randy and Bernie at the 2008 Gardner, KS wild horse and burro adoption.  Bernie spent the day showing visitors just how adorable a burro can be and he loved every minute of the attention!

In the summer of 2010 we were able to take in a couple of friends for Bernie.  They have all adjusted well.

Stop by and see me again sometime!
